Violet is an emerging artist based in London. After gaining a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture, she is currently studying ceramics. Violet’s practice mainly involves working in porcelain, although she explores several mediums in parallel to her work with clay, such as photography and printmaking. Violet’s work focuses on the passing of time, expressing feelings of loneliness, sentimentality, and nostalgia.
"For me, art has always intensified the experience of everyday life, encapsulating history, philosophy, and poetry. Part of my practice lies in exploring these elements, while expressing the endless longing and overwhelming emotions that come with existence. I find there is something so special about clay’s ability to preserve a specific moment in time within the final work. When making, I try to express a certain feeling or emotion in my pieces, which the clay then preserves through time." - Violet
