Lucas Bullens is a Swiss born artist based in London, specialising in the medium of photography. Interested in ideas of the ‘soul’, Lucas’ practice revolves around exploring the transcendental. Using the camera as an instrument, he seeks to extract the immaterial buried within the material. The mostly monochromatic sequences he presents are a minimalist yet intricate reflection of the world he feels around him.

Lucas works with a multiplicity of materials, however always keeping the manipulation and movement of light (photography) at the core of his practice.

Earning an MA in Photography from the Royal College of Art in 2022, Lucas is an award winning artist and a part-time lecturer at UAL, London.

Recent group and solo exhibitions include “Art Maze”, Oxo Tower/Bargehouse, London; “Unveil”, Swanfall Art, London; “After the Waiting Room”, Copeland Gallery, London; “RCA 2022”, Royal College of Art, London; “Pull Over”, Espacio Gallery, London; “If a bear falls...”, Greenwich 187, London.
